The funeral service will be held at 1 pm, Thursday, March 9, 2017, at Colonial Funeral Home with Pastor Shep Bevis officiating. Interment will follow in the Stoneville Municipal Cemetery.
Mrs. Barker was born May 31, 1922, in Stokes County, to the late William Washington Tucker and Bessie Louis Tucker. She was a retired employee of J.S. Variety Store and a former employee of Stoneville Elementary School. She was also a member of Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church in Stoneville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis E. Barker; daughter, Patsy B. Lemons; son-in-law, Eddie L. Woodlieff; granddaughter, Lori Barrett; sisters, Lois Balch, Ruth Young, Daisy Gibson, Bernice Yates and Maryanna Ratliff; and brothers, Carlis Tucker and William B. Tucker.
Survivors include daughter, Peggie B. Woodlieff; grandchildren, Kristin McNeill (Danny), Eric Lemons (Crystal), Travis Woodlieff (Kathy) and Michael Lemons (LaTosha); great-grandchildren, Noah Bankston, Ben Brown, Alexis and Ella Lemons, Lucas Barrett, Jacob and Seth Woodlieff, Madison Lemons, Brianna Albritton, Chase McNeill and Britini Jennings; sister, Obera Grant; and brother, Clay B. Tucker.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm, Wednesday, at Colonial Funeral Home and all other times at the home of Danny and Kristin McNeill.
