Violet Grace Green Maxwell, known lovingly as 'Granny' by her grandchildren and as 'Vi' by her friends, left her earthly home to be with Jesus Christ on Saturday, March 4, 2017.

Born on April 29, 1931, in Beaumont, Texas, Violet loved children and taught at a pre-school for many years. She then worked as a dental assistant, and her last position before retirement was a clerk for a savings and loan.

Violet grew up in the First Baptist Church of Beaumont where she regularly volunteered. She was well known for her knowledge of and devotion to scripture. All who had the chance to tour her yard and garden know of Violet's lifelong passion for gardening and flowers. Violet had an eye for capturing the beauty in nature and was a gifted artist.

Violet moved to San Angelo, Texas in 1999 to be closer to family, where she joined the First Baptist Church of San Angelo.

She was survived by her daughter Ginger, three grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at First Baptist Church in San Angelo. Violet then laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont, Texas, on Saturday March 11, 2017.
