Maine State Treasurer from 1877-79. Previously served terms in the Maine House of Representatives and State Senate. Also served as Mayor of Biddeford in 1860. Republican Presidential Elector in 1868. Was Postmaster of Biddeford from 1883-85 and was President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Biddeford and Saco Railway beginning in 1889.
