Marilyn Murzyn was born on August 25, 1934 in Two Rivers, daughter of the late Clarence and Helen (Tuch) Diedrich. She attended St. Luke's Grade School and was a graduate of Two Rivers Washington High School with the class of 1952. Marilyn also completed the two year course for industrial engineering at LTC. She worked as an industrial engineer for 20 years at Paragon and then 13 years at Fisher Hamilton until her retirement in February of 2000. On November 28, 1953 she married John Murzyn at St. Luke's Catholic Church of Two Rivers. He preceded her in death on October 20, 2001.

Marilyn was a member of the Manitowoc Chamber Choir since its beginning, a member of the Laudate Choir at St. Peter the Fisherman and a member of the Ladies of St. Peter the Fisherman. Her greatest gift in life was her encouraging and positive disposition. Marilyn loved her family and loved being with her coworkers and friends. Music was always a part of Marilyn's life, from the days that she would harmonize with her younger sister to her last days of singing at her care facility where she was nicknamed "The Song Bird".

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law: David and Dana Murzyn, Two Rivers; one daughter and son-in-law: Sandra Murzyn and David Wage, Manitowoc; five grandchildren: Samuel and Kelsey Murzyn, David Jr. (fiancee Samantha Meneau), Hayden and Margot Wage; one sister and brother-in-law: Phyllis and Richard Doersch, Cleveland; one brother and sister-in-law: Douglas and Barbara Diedrich, Minneapolis, MN; and one sister-in-law: Dolores Froese, Statten Island, NY. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Tom Reynebeau, with entombment to follow at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc.
