I was in the same CAP as Ansel. Ansel and I were stationed together in CAP 2-7-3. We were both Southern boys and became good friends. He was a good Marine. I still can see his face. I think of him often. Semper Fi. Rest in Peace, Mac McCrory, 12339 Calcote Road, Gonzales, La 70737, [email protected].

A friend from high school. Ansel and I were at Garinger High School together, and shot pool, drank beer and talked about getting drafted. He was drafted, I joined. He went to Viet Nam, I was sent to Ft. Jackson. I am currently in the Pentagon, with orders to go to Iraq in Feb 04 to train the Iraqi Army. I have thought about Ansel many times over the years, and have looked up his name on the Wall many times while at the Pentagon. Ansel will always be my friend, and a hero. Jay Walker, Monroe, NC, [email protected].

Ansel, no man has ever loved another man as much as I love you. Every time I think about our friendship, tears come to my eyes. I hope by putting this memorial on the Internet that someone in your family or relationships will contact me. I pray that you are with the Lord, Jesus Christ, so that we may once again be together to share smiles and to talk until the wee hours of the morning and to love one another as Jesus did. Sgt. Ron "Gator" Gometz, 2nd CAG, CAP 2-4-3, 628 Benson Hurst Drive SW, Mableton, Ga, 30126, [email protected].
