Agnes Mary Powers, 94, of Bozeman passed away Nov. 12, 2003.

She was born Jan. 14, 1909, in Manderson, Wyo., to Theodore E. and Millie (Shelmerdine) Caufield. The family moved to Canada from Wyoming, then eventually settled in Bynum, where she attended school.

She married Eddie H. Powers June 3, 1929. They later divorced.

She was employed in Great Falls from 1939 to 1943, when she moved to Choteau. She was employed by Teton Memorial Hospital in Choteau, and was a chef in Great Falls, Choteau, Helena and Butte.

She lived in Choteau until 1955, when she moved to Helena and later to Butte to be near her daughter.

After her retirement, she worked for Social Services in Butte until she was 83, helping the elderly. She was a member of the LDS church, and enjoyed her church, her family, and doing handwork.

Agnes moved to Bozeman in 1997 to be near her son, Harold Powers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Dorothy Mae Larson; sisters, Afton Scott and Goldie Humble; brother-in-law, Frank Humble; and her brother, James.

Agnes is survived by her son, Harold T. (Diane) Powers of Bozeman; sisters, Grace Nelson of Yuma, Ariz., and LaVon Busek of Charlo, and Yuma, Ariz.; brothers-in-law, Loren Busek and Quentin Nelson; and sister-in-law, Mae Caufield.

She is also survived by her grandchildren: Kim Powers of Seattle, Pam Urdahl and Jeff Powers, both of Bozeman, Eddie Larson of Medford, Ore., Ted Larson and James Larson, both of Butte; four great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are her son-in-law, Clifford Larson of Medford, Ore.; a special niece, Ethelee LaBaugh of Choteau; and numerous nieces and nephews.
