Son of the late William Garland Gooch and Leila H. Gooch, he was preceded in death by a sister, Faye Babb, and by a brother, Michael Gooch. He was survived by four brothers; three sisters; and an extended family of relatives and friends. His graveside funeral was held on March 7, 2017, with The Rev.
