She was born to Pete and Margaret Brown, the fifth of their six children. She was baptized at Mount Sinai Baptist Church. She grew to know and love the Lord. At the early age of seven, she started carrying her Bible with her everywhere. The family relocated to Los Angeles, California, and she graduated from Los Angeles High School. She then went on to attend Sinclair College, in Dayton, Ohio, for two years. There, she sang in the Gospel College Choir, and majored in Business and the Arts. She also attended St. Luke Baptist Church, and was a member of their choir. She returned to Los Angeles, and attended West Los Angeles College and El Camino College. In Los Angeles, she was a faithful member of St. Andrew's Baptist Church, under the leadership of Reverend Alex Toussaint for nine years. She was blessed with one child, her son, Lee Strong, who remembers his Mom as being a wonderful and devoted mother. She was a dedicated employee for American Airlines and Continental Airlines for nine years, in their Customer Service Departments. She was a brilliant woman, and her bright star will shine through the years. Her love for reading and children were unmatched. Her favorite books were the Bible and medical books; so much so, that her doctor recalls taking a pad in with him when he went to see her, so that he could take notes on the information she would give him! She loved old movies, baby-sitting, shopping, and Gospel Music. She will always be remembered as a loving, nurturing, devoted mother, daughter, sister, and aunt. On Monday, January 24, 2005, Sheila Louise Brown was called to Eternal Rest. Her grandparents, Luther and Millie Grisby, and George and Etta Brown, four uncles, and one aunt, preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memories, her beloved son, Lee Strong; her loving parents, Pete and Margaret Brown; five sisters, Pamela Woods, Connie Brown, Sandra Robbins, Earlene Brown, and Tracey Brown; four aunts, Clara Green, Bo Donahue, Betty Ann Grisby, and Patsy Getts; special friends, Sharon, Yolanda, and Cassandra, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
