LOVING HUSBAND, FATHER, GRANDFATHER AND GREAT GRANDFATHER.

Husband of W.C. DALLMAN.

Proud father of two sons and three daughters.

Grandfather of nine and Great Grandfather of one.

Son of HERMAN WM. & JOSEPHINE (BENTZ) DALLMAN.

Brother of Eugene B. Dallman.

Howie Dallman graduated from Janesville High School and studied at Milton College in Wisconsin earning a Bachelor of Arts degree. Here he became an ace tennis player and the Wisconsin state champion. He also attended the GM Institute of Technology in Flint, Michigan.

In Dec. 1942 Howie enlisted in the US Army Air Corps and become a B-17 pilot. During a top-secret mission he landed behind Axis lines to deliver much-needed supplies to the Slovak partisans. For this mission he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross.

During 1943-1945 Col."Howie" Dallman served in WWII.
During the war he flew 45 combat missions before being
shot down over Austria and captured by the Nazis in 1944. He spent the rest of the war in POW camps and was liberated in 1945.

His distinguished 32 year military career included a tour of duty in Vietnam in 1967-68. He flew C-130 transport planes and US Air Force awarded him with their highest honor The Air Force Cross for his heroism. This medal is second only to the Medal of Honor.

His last command was Senior Advisor to the Air National Guard for the state of Minnesota.

He will always be remembered as a very happy, strong and loving man.
