Sp4 Billy Vance Morris, Vietnam Vateran, Native of Bryson City, NC.

Specialist Four Billy Vance Morris was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Army, SP4 Morris served our country until October 22nd, 1971 in Quang Ngai, South Vietnam. He was 20 years old and was married. It was reported that Billy died when his helicopter crashed. His body was recovered. Billy was born on December 9th, 1950 in Bryson City, North Carolina. SP4 Morris is on panel 02W, line 048 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C.

He served with the 68th Medical Detachment(Dustoff), 67th Medical Group, USARV Medical Command, USARV.

He was awarded The Purple Heart Medal for his combat related wounds, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Service Medal, The National Defense Service Medal, The Air Medal with Multiple Oak Leaf Clusters.
