Perry Edward Plett was born on September 9, 1954, in Auburn, Washington, to Vernon Edward Plett and Renetta Marie (Unruh) Plett. He went home to his Lord on March 13, 2017.

He was raised in Collinsville, Oklahoma, working in Plett's Auto Shop with his Uncle Cliff and dad where his love for horsepower began. He spent many evenings at the drag strip and was an avid Dale Earnhardt fan, collecting a die cast of every car Dale ever drove. As a child, Perry also collected enough pop bottles to buy his first electric guitar and thoroughly enjoyed playing and listening to music. In 1972 he graduated with honors from Collinsville High School, even after intentionally missing answers to avoid giving the valedictorian speech. He was married to his high school sweetheart Jennifer Lee Hendricks on May 25, 1974, and lived in the Tulsa area until they moved to the family centennial farm near Homestead in 1980.

Perry spent the majority of his working life as an auto mechanic but also enjoyed his time at Webcraft, Sooner Co-op, and a handful of other places where he made life long friends. He was a very active member of the Homestead Bible Church, running the sound and lending a hand whenever he could. He also taught Wednesday night classes at Saron Mennonite Church for many years. Perry asked Jesus into his heart as young boy and was baptized at Canton Lake as a young adult. He loved the Lord and was very knowledgeable of the scripture. Perry loved to tinker, could fix anything, and spoiled his cat Pookie. He was an excellent and patient father and Papa to his 3 daughters - Sarah Marie, Helena Grace, and Marylee Margaret - and his 4 grandchildren - Faith Ann, Emma Marie, Sophia Jane, and Truman Edward.

He is survived by his wife Jennifer of Okeene; his daughters Sarah and husband Jeremy Parker of Canton, Helena and husband Andrew McLaurine of Laverne, and Marylee Plett of Tulsa; his grandchildren Faith, Emma, Sophia and Truman Parker; his sisters Alice and husband Larry Jordan, Elaine Hunter, Peggy and husband Stuart Cornwell; his brother Lloyd and wife Cheri Plett; his in-laws Jay and Alice Hendricks; and many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the Homestead Bible Church with Pastor Jeremy Parker officiating. Interment will follow in Homestead Cemetery.
