Mr. Norris T. Westall, age 78, of Marion, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at his home following a brief illness. A native of McDowell County, Norris was born on November 27, 1938 to the late Thad and Roxie Hensley Westall. A veteran of the U. S. Army, he served his country faithfully during his time in the service. He was a wonderful father and devoted husband and truly loved his Lord. He had a keen interest in politics and could be described as a conservative constitutionalist. He was also an avid reader and loved to play golf. He will be missed by his loving family and friends. His beloved wife, Ruby Parker Westall, preceded him in death.

Norris leaves four children behind; Elaine W. Deyton and husband Chuck of Marion, Curtis T. Westall and wife Eugenia of Marion, Sandra D. Loor and husband Tim of Crofton, MD, and Shirley A. Hicks and husband Leo of Marion; two brothers, Wayne Westall and wife Irene and Lawrence Westall and wife Essie, all of Marion; two sisters, Opal Beavers of Marion and Julie Mae Fisher and husband Phil of Florida; eleven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

The family will have receive friends at Norris’ home on Friday, March 17, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Hospice of McDowell County at 575 Airport Road, Marion, NC 28752. Westmoreland Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
