Lona Cable Lowery, age 71, of Marion, died on Thursday April 13, 2000.

Born in Swain County to the late Thomas W. and Mable Moore Cable she was retired from Baxter Healthcare, Inc.

Survivors include her husband, Jason Emerson Lowery of the home; one son, Allen Dale Lowery of California; three daughters, Marcia Lowery Freeman, Dorothy Olene Holder, and Camelia E. Searcy, all of Marion; one brother, Sanford Cable of Bryson City; four sisters; Lola Cable Aldridge and Myrtle Hall both of Marion, Maggie Connor of Rutherfordton, and Lydia Hall of Washington, D.C.; 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by a son, Clark Lee Lowery.

The funeral service was held in Westmoreland Chapel on Sunday, April 16, 2000 at 3:00 pm and burial followed in the McDowell Memorial Park.

The family received friends from 2:00-3:00 pm on Sunday, April 16, 2000 at Westmoreland Funeral Home.
