The son of John and Elizabeth BRUMBY (born HILL).

He was baptized on 6 October 1778 at St Michael Church, Cammeringham.

His first marriage was to Ann MITCHELL on 13 October 1806 at St Mary's Church, Stow in Lindsey, Lincolnshire.

His second marriage was to Mary MITCHELL on 23 September 1811 at Holy Trinity Church, Hull, Yorkshire.

Archbishop of York Marriage Licence, 23 September 1811. Intended marriage place: Holy Trinity, Hull. Brumby aged 30, residence Parish of Stow and Mitchell aged 27, residence Parish of Hull.

He was a shoemaker/cordwainer by trade.

Died at his late residence at Bramby, aged 66 years.

He was interred July 21 at St Mary's Churchyard, Stow in Lindsey.
