Walter C. (Jimmy) Dakeman, 71, of Alexandria, died Friday, Sept. 19, at his home. Mr. Dakeman was born June 21, 1909 in Berryville, a son of the late James Robert and Maude Hess

He was retired from C&P Telephone Co. and was a member of the Pioneer Club and the Berryville Baptist Church.
Surviving is his widow, Mrs. Willie K. Dakeman, one son, James (Skip) Dakeman of Chantilly; one daughter Marjorie Francis, Greensboro, N.C., and four grandchildren.
A graveside service was conducted yesterday (Wednesday) at 10 a.m. at National Memorial Park Cemetery in Falls Church.
