Funeral services for Fay Leon Palmer, 77 of Pryor will be held Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at Key Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Rob Harris and Richard Beattie officiating. Burial will follow at Graham Memorial Cemetery in Pryor. Services are under the direction of Key Funeral Home of Pryor.

Mr. Palmer was born in Mayes County, OK to Levi S. and Janie (Casey) Palmer. He died in Claremore, OK. As a boy, Fay sold newspapers on Main Street in Pryor, he had just gone home when "The Tornado" came through town.

Fay served in the United States Army in Korea during the Korean Conflict. Fay married Shirley Beattie on May 5, 1956 in Miami, OK. He worked as Parts Manager for the Chevrolet Oldsmobile Dealership for years before owning and operating the Palmer Texaco station on Highway 69 in Pryor. Fay loved to fish. He was very friendly and always willing to help those in trouble.

He is survived by his wife Shirley, of the home; son, Charles Palmer of Pryor; grandchildren, Brian and Haley Palmer of Collinsville, OK; brothers, George Ball of Pryor and Leo Ball of Pryor; sisters, Mary Ball Hardy of Pryor and Katie Ball Smith of Pryor; and brother-in-law, Richard Beattie and wife Patti of Pryor.

He was preceded in death by, his parents, step-father, Tony Ball and brother, L.C. Palmer.
