Vivian Lowanda Adams, beloved mother, grandmother, wife, sister and friend to many, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2017. Vivian was born August 28, 1924 in Meridian, Idaho, the eldest child of Henry and Wanda (Gale) Jenson. It is there where she grew up and graduated from Meridian High School.
Soon after graduation, her family moved to Olympia, where Vivian worked as a bank teller downtown. After WWII, Vivian was introduced to the love of her life, a famous fighter pilot returning from the Flying Tigers of China, Theodore Adams. They were married in Lincoln, Nebraska in May of 1945, a loving union that would last over 62 years. Ted & Viv would leave the Air Force for a short period of their lives and move back to Olympia, where they owned and operated the Olympia City Creamery and began raising their family. The business was short lived and they soon returned to the Air Force way of life until Ted's retirement, after which they moved back to Olympia. There they built their beautiful retirement home on their man-made lake on Sleater Kinney Road.
Vivian enjoyed RV'ing with Ted, hunting, gardening, bowling, and especially salmon fishing.
Vivian leaves behind her daughter, son, three granddaughters, great granddaughter, three brothers.
Vivian was preceded in death by her husband (Ted); granddaughter, Carrie Anne Adams; and her brother, Ronnie Val Jenson.
Funeral Services will be held at Mills & Mills Funeral Home in Tumwater on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 1 p.m., with private interment at Mills & Mills Memorial Park.
