Elenora M. Lowdermilk, 89, of Brazil, and formerly of Centerpoint, passed away March 16, 2017.
She was born March 28, 1927, in Clay County, Indiana, the daughter of Lester E. and Lucy Ann (Tucker) Miller. She graduated from Cory High School with the class of 1945. Elenora married Gerald Gene Lowdermilk on Nov. 11, 1948. He passed away in 1977. Mrs. Lowdermilk worked as a homemaker and a farmer. She also worked as a CNA at MacNell Nursing Home and McCann Manor. In her free time she enjoyed spending time with family, working on the farm, working with puzzles, watching her grandchildren show animals at 4-H and attending their sporting events, and birdwatching.
In addition to her parents, Lester and Lucy Miller, and her husband, Gerald Lowdermilk, Elenora was preceded in death by her son, Darrell Lowdermilk; a granddaughter, Natalie Lowdermilk; and a daughter-in-law, Cindy Lowdermilk; two brothers, Norman Miller and Harold Miller; and a sister, Patricia Ann Came.
Survivors include three daughters, Jeanette Steiner and husband Richard of Clay City, Rebecca Royer and husband Mike of Brazil, and Darlene Targett and husband Mike of Clay City; grandchildren, Sondra Unger (David), David Steiner (Amy Swearingen), Sally Killion (Mike), Darrin Steiner (Tammy), Sarah Stansifer (T.J.), Susan Adams (Jason), Troy Lowdermilk (Stacy), Emily Hodge (Ryan), Nicole Olsen (Mike), Jared Royer, Christopher Targett (Sharayah) and Shelby Felling; 15 great-grandchildren; and caretaker and friend, Angie Michael; as well as many extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, 301 E. Eighth St., Clay City, Indiana, from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2017. Services will be at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
