Mr. New went to be with the Lord on January 24, 2007 after a lenghty illness. He was born September 18 1945 in Springhill, La to C. B. and Hazel Gore New. He was a resident of Plain Dealing at the time of his death. He worked in the oilfield as a roughneck to a drilling superintendent for Murco Oil Company. He was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife Joy Eller New. He is survived by two sisters and one brother.
