William A Barstow was President of the Union Tank Car Company died at his home in West Orange, New Jersey of pneumonia. He graduated from Yale in 1899 and worked at Standard Oil Company with which his father was associated. During World War I, as commander in the Naval Reserve, he was highly praised by Admiral Sir Hugh Tuthill for constructing a fuel oil pipe line from Clyde to Forth, England.
