Louise Sheen was born April 25, 1924 on the family farm near Bluff City, Kansas, daughter of Charles Anton and Carrie Jelinek. She loved music and singing. Her family was very involved in the Sokol Lodge Organization, where she sang and performed operettas in the Czech language. She graduated from Bluff City High School in 1943.

Louise married Vlastislav Sheen on May 8, 1951. Vlasti was raised on a farm in the Moravian Valley in what was then called Czechoslovakia. They both shared a passion for singing and dancing.

They made their home on a farm near Bluff City and were blessed with three children: Margaret, Carol and Edward. Before she married she was very involved in farming with her parents and continued farming with her husband. They were involved in wheat, alfalfa, cattle, sheep and egg production. Every year they butchered a couple hundred chickens. She loved to bake and was a great cook. Their farm help still reminisces today about her generous meals and beverages. She grew vegetables and flowers, roses being her favorite. She also loved her pets.

Louise and Vlasti enjoyed traveling to Europe, mainly Czechoslovakia, where they visited friends and family. They also traveled to Hawaii several times. After Vlasti passed, Louise continued traveling to Europe and state wide well into her 80's.

During her lifetime, she and Vlasti sponsored well over 100 immigrants from the Czech Republic, assisting them in finding lodging, employment and also schooling to better their English language and vocational skills and higher education.

In October of 2012, Louise moved into the Anthony Community Care Center. Her time there was spent teasing and joking with the staff. She commented several times that they all took good care of her.

On March 18, 2017, Louise passed away at the Anthony Community Care Center at the age of 92 years, 10 months and 21 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vlasti on October 13, 1994; and siblings: Charlie and Frank Anton.
