Thorwald Christensen BROOKLYN — Funeral services for Thorwald Christensen. 72, lifelong resident who died suddenly Wednesday in Mexico, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Methodist Church here with the Rev. Donald Frank officiating. Burial with be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Mr. Christensen was visiting a World War I friend, J. D White, El Paso, Texas, at the time of his death. A member of the American Legion Benjamin Johnson Post 160, he enlisted April 12, 1917, in Janesville and served with Company M, 128th Infantry, 3rd Division. While in France he was transferred to Company C, 28th Infantry, 1st. Division, and served there until September 1919 when he was discharged. Mr. Christensen married the former Louise Frye, in June, 1927, in Brooklyn. Surviving are his wife; a son, Thorwald G. Christensen, Brooklyn; three daughters, Mrs. Donald Ruth, Madison, Mrs. Robert Tarkenton and Mrs. Phillip White, both of Oregon; four sisters, Mrs. Elna McGaw, Madison, Mrs. Dora Jacobson, Beloit. Mrs. Wilma O'Brien, Tucson, Ariz., and Mrs. Pearl Armstrong, St. Louis, Mo.; and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, two sisters and one brother Friends may call at the B. L. Booth Funeral Home, Oregon, after 7 p m. Monday.
