JOHN E. O'NEAL - Service for John E. O'Neal, retired Milwaukee railroad switchman who died Monday night [4-6-1964] in a local hospital after a long illness, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in St. John's Catholic Church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation may be made tonight at Law Funeral Home, where the Rosary will be cited at 8. Mr. O'Neal was born March 17, 1892, in Savanna to John and Mary (Doran) O'Neal. He married Nellie Trainer May 13, 1910, at Marion, Iowa. Surviving are his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Jack (Margaret) Fennie, Catalina Island, Calif., and Mrs. Robert (Evelyn) Elliott, Davenport, Iowa; one son, Edward, Davenport; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four brothers, Joseph of Savanna, Thomas of Mt. Carroll, Henry of Mt. Prospect, and Frank of East Chicago, Ind., and two sisters, Mrs. Henry Brennan, Savanna, and Mrs. Charles Hartford, Farmington, Mich. He was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, and his parents.
