Evelyn M. Hoggard, 82, of Mecosta, formerly of Midland, passed away Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009, at Central Michigan Community Hospital in Mount Pleasant.

Evelyn was born in Midland on Sept. 3, 1926, to the late George and Altha (Schultz) Krotzer. On Sept. 22, 1945, Evelyn married her sweetheart Robert Hoggard. Evelyn was a devoted member of the Pine Grove Tabernacle. She was an avid crochetier and she also loved playing cards, camping and fishing.

She is survived by her husband Robert; her daughters Bobbie (Larry) Bauder of Sanford, Ruth (Dave) Tree of Midland, Angie (Bill Katsma) Hayward of Byron Center, Becky (Steve) Buckley of Bridgeport, Laura (Brad) Bulock of Charlotte and Louise (Dan) Allen of Baldwin; her sons, Vic (Michelle) Hoggard of Bridgeport and George (Bonnie) Hoggard of Cass City; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; her brothers, Dale (Betty) Krotzer of St. Helen, Ed (Donna) Krotzer of Midland, Bob Krotzer of West Branch and Lloyd (Sara) Krotzer of Midland; and many nieces and nephews. Evelyn was preceded in death by her sister Arlene Breedlove; her brothers Charlie and Mick; and two great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Smith-Miner Funeral Home on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009, 11 a.m., with Pastor Darwin Mowat of the Pine Grove Tabernacle officiating.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. and 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
