Relma Mae Houston Bradshaw

Relma Mae Houston Bradshaw, 80, of Clover Avenue, Connelly Springs, died Monday, Jan. 29, 2007, at Valdese General Hospital after a period of declining health.

Mrs. Bradshaw was born on July 7, 1926, in Burke County to the late June Alexander Houston and Laura Berry Houston.

She was a homemaker, and formerly a member of Abee's Grove Baptist Church and Oak Ridge Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Ira Houston and Ralph Houston.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Hobert Bradshaw, of the home; three children, Peggy Stines of Morganton, Roger Bradshaw and wife, Wanda, of Connelly Springs, and Laura Bradshaw Keen of Durham; one sister, Evelyn Baker of Rutherford College; grandchildren, Lorinda Whisnant, Melody Bailey, Brenda Summerlin, Cindy Bradshaw and Keith Bradshaw; also surviving are 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese. Officiating will be the Rev. Darrell Webb.

Interment will follow in the Abee's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Wednesday, one hour prior to the funeral at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese.
