Louis N. Gauthier was the son of Joseph O. and Annie (Camaraine/Cameron) Gauthier. He married Dora E. McManis in Montpelier, VT May 28, 1892. His marriage record says he was born in Milford, MA.

"Stores in Windsor were closed Monday afternoon during the funeral services of L. N. Gauthier, chief of police of the town for the past eight years.
Rev. Mr. Lucas of the Congregational church of Windsor officiated, with the Elks service at the home and grave. Floral tributes were many and very beautiful, showing the high esteem in which Mr. Gauthier was held.
Floral offerings were: Pillow and cross of roses and carnations from the family; corsage in white roses, brothers and sisters; set piece of roses, Claremont lodge, 879 BPOE; corsage in real roses, office of National Acme Company; corsage in carnations, Harry B. Lamson Camp, No. 2. Spanish American War Veterans, Barre: wreath of carnations and roses, the Laurence garage; wreath of carnations and roses, merchants of Windsor; pillow of roses, Good Samaritan Lodge, IOOF, of Hanover, NH; wreath of carnations American Legion; wreath of roses and carnations, Co. G. Vermont National Guard: standard and wreath of roses and Easter lilies, Village of Windsor and numerous bouquets from friends all over the state." The Barre Times Dec. 18, 1923 page 1.
