Russell Thomas Jenkins, 92, of Bancroft, passed away Saturday Feb. 19, 200 at the Caribou Memorial Living Center in Soda Springs. He was born Sept. 4, 1907 at Newton, Utah, the son of James Oliver and Hannah Maria Stevens Jenkins.
He was raised and educated at Newton and Clarkstown, Utah. He lived two years at Lund and in Bancroft the past 64 years.
He married Marvella Isabella Burt, June 12, 1929 in Logan, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Mrs. Jenkins passed away Oct. 18, 1974. He married Oma Mecham Conrad Sept. 12, 1975 in the Logan LDS Temple. Oma passed away Feb. 1, 1991.
He has worked for the Union Pacific Railroad. He was a High Priest in the Bancroft LDS First Ward. He had served as secretary to the High Priest Group and as a home teacher.
He enjoyed singing, playing the harmonica, and drawing.
Russell is survived by three daughters, Marva Lou and Glenn Barnes, Twin Falls, Joyce Argyle, Bandcroft and Mary Stratten, Pocatelllo, four step-children, Dean, Roland, Joyce and Marilyn. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; one brother and one sister, Sterling Jenkins, Pocatello and Lucille Hunter, Lund. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Marie Jenkins, and four brothers and one sister.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, Feb. 23 at 12 nood at the Bancroft LDS Ward Chapel.
Burial was in the Bancroft Cemetery. Services were under the direction of the Sims Funeral Home.
