He was born March 26, 1939 in Charlotte, MI to Claire Aaron and Thelma Mae (Schofield) Brunton. John was very active in the community, serving as an Ontonagon County Commissioner, Ontonagon County Fair Board President and Ontonagon County Road Commissioner. He was an active member of the Lions Club, MI/WI Antique Engine Club and gave antique engine demonstrations. He also served in the Michigan Air National Guard.
John is survived by his wife Ada; children Harley Brunton, Harold (Dianna Thompson) Brunton, Henry (Linda Swenor) Brunton and Samantha (Dale) Gutzman; sister Jean (Dan) Creyts; grandchildren Johnathon Alexander Brunton, Tanya Marie Brunton and Riley Ann McCampbell; nephew John Daniel Creyts, niece Ruth Ellen (Bob) Abbott and great-niece Brady Abbot.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside service for John will be held at Munger Cemetery in Eaton Rapids, MI at a later date.
