Sarah Ruth Early, age 92, of Rome passed away Sunday March 19, 2017 after a long battle with cancer.

Ms. Early was born September 21, 1924 in Floyd County a daughter of the late Philip H. Early and Mary Battle Early. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Her Chosen career as a Registered Medical Technologist brought her great joy and satisfaction but she regarded her greatest joy and honor in life was the privilege of teaching Gods Word for 63 years. She lived in Jacksonville, Fl. where she was a member of The First Baptist Church for 44 years where and taught Bible Class for 37 years. Upon retirement in 1990 she moved to Rome and continued teaching until her death. Ms. Early was preceded in death by brothers, John P. Early, Hobart F. Early, William Early and Clayton Early sisters, Mary K. Early, Ann E. Prskitt, Alice E. Alexander, and Bonnie E. Shannon.

Survivors include one Sister, Mildred E. Garner, very special niece Linda Ann Early, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday March 23, 2017 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Ken Oates, and Dr. Dale Levan, officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will recieve friends from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of the service on Thursday at Good shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165.
