Clinton was born on Wednesday May 24, 1933. He was born and raised in Hanover Parish, Jamaica. He was a resident of Norristown, Pennsylvania. Clinton worked various jobs over the years with his latest being Shop Rite in East Norriton and Plymouth House Nursing Home in Plymouth Meeting.
Clinton enjoyed his reggae music, which he liked to play loud so everyone else could enjoy it with him. Before he became ill he could be seen walking everywhere. He refused rides by those he knew because he enjoyed his walking. He MOST enjoyed being surrounded by his family. His home was always filled with the sounds of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was the Patriarch to his large, loving family.
Clinton is survived by his sons: Delbert, Winston, Lenord all of Jamaica, Lawrence Scarlett and his wife Lisa, of Blue Bell, PA, Richard Scarlett and his wife Angela of Norristown, PA and Everton Scarlett and his wife Janese of Burlington, NJ; Daughters: Angela of Jamaica, Doreen Scarlett (Eduardo) of Tampa, FL and Margaret Knight and husband Tony of Norristown, PA. He is also survived by a brother: Washington of New York, brother-in-law: Phillip Brown of Jamaica, sister-in-law: Iona Redguard and her husband Rupert, of Blue Bell, PA He is survived by 22 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and other family members in Jamaica.
Besides his wife Joyce, he was preceded in death by a son: Fitzroy Scarlett and a grandson: Courtney Shaw.
