Wanda Valoris Wood-Shortt-Amburgey, 71, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital.

Wanda was born April 2, 1935, at Glen White, the daughter of the late James "Jim" Wood (Deceased) and Lydia Richards-Wood (Deceased).

She was married to Ira Marshall Shortt (B. 1932) on October 26, 1954 in Welch, McDowell County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, McDowell County, WV, 1954, Page 103, Application Date: October 19, 1954).

Mrs. Amburgey was a member of New Richmond Chapel and a homemaker.

Survivors include her loving husband, Harry Lee Amburgey (1929-2010) whom she married after 1991; three daughters, Marsha Shortt-Porter and husband, Jimmy, of North Carolina, Terri Shortt-Moore of Pennsylvania and Charlotte Jean Amburgey-Adams and husband, Steve, of Oceana; two sons, Mark Shortt and wife, Susan, of Tennessee and Doyle Edward Amburgey and companion, Beth Morehead, of Athens; two brothers, James "Jimmy" Wood and wife, Jean, of Odd and Frank Wood and wife, Pat, of Florida; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving family and friends.

Graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Palm Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Matheny, with the Rev. Larry L. England officiating. Burial will follow.
