Mullavey, Robert "Bucket" Lee, 71, of Wheeling, WV, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2017, at his residence.
He was born on October 3, 1945, in Wheeling, WV, son of the late Richard and Loretta Spiedel Mullavey.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Lillie "Sis" Becker and Jeri Mullavey.
Mr. Mullavey attended Wheeling High School and joined the Navy in his senior year. The Navy was his life, pride and joy for the next 23 years. He proudly retired as Hull Tech Chief, serving two tours in Vietnam. He taught many officers and sailors fire-fighting skills. Bob was also retired from the Ohio County Commission as a maintenance supervisor.
Bob is survived by his best friend and loving wife, Phyllis Ann Cartwright Mullavey, daughter, Missy Pelley, two sons, Robert Mullavey II and Brian Mullavey, sister, Linda Crawford, four step-children, Christie Stewart, Lisa (Scott) McCloskey, Greg (Jodi) Stewart, and Doug (Lisa) Stewart, eight grandchildren and six step-grandchildren. And a special thanks to his loving nurse, Brandy Reed.
Friends will be received on Thursday, March 30, 2017, from 2 p.m. until time of services at 6 p.m. at Kepner Funeral Home, 3545 Jacob Street, South Wheeling, WV, with Pastor R. Paul Schafer officiating. Military services will be conducted by the Moundsville Honor Guard.
Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
