The 1930 census shows "Delos C. Clymer" (census records often reverse the first and middle names) as a teenager residing with his father, and his siblings, in Hannibal Missouri.

The 1940 census finds Carl Delos Clymer living as a boarder in Milwaukee Wisconsin.

The U. S. BIRLS File for Carl Clymer states he was born 12 January 1913 and died 17 June 1983. It states he served in the U. S. Navy from 12 July 1940 to 5 July 1960, and again from 2 February 1962 to 30 June 1962.

The inscription on his marker states he served, during the Korean War, in the U. S. Army.
