Lee R. Spencer, 73, of Winchester, husband for 53 years to Rose Linda Shrout Spencer, passed away peacefully at their home Friday. He was born on April 25th 1943 to the late Carl Spencer and Allene Spencer Arledge in Campton, Kentucky. He grew up in Winchester and graduated from Saint Agatha Academy. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. Lee retired from the Bluegrass Army Depot, Richmond, Kentucky. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and playing with his grandchildren. He was a loving and proud husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Dr. Kari Beth (Brian) Christie and two granddaughters, Claire Elizabeth and Emilee Kate Christie of Louisville. Brothers and Sisters, Lonnie Spencer (Florida); Mary Ruth (Larry) Barnhouse (Florida); James (Diane) Arledge (Louisiana); Jubal (Karen) Arledge (Winchester); Mother in Law: Elizabeth Shrout, Brother and Sister N Law: Arthur and Sandy Shrout and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, J.D. Spencer and Edward Arledge. Memorial service will be Wednesday, March 29, at 2pm at the Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home, 289 S. Main St, with Rev. Lee Cruse presiding. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from noon until the hour of service. Burial will be in the Winchester Cemetery.
