Mrs. Sylvia Ellen Hamilton, age 85, of Lebanon, Virginia, went to be with the Lord Sunday (March 26, 2017) in Roanoke, Virginia. Born January 26, 1932 in Bud, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Cora Lusk Belcher. She was a member of the Fountain of Joy in Pounding Mill, Virginia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Alfred Hamilton, two sisters, Sadie Greene, and Thelma Billings, and four brothers, Paul, Troas, Leon, and Carl Belcher. In her generation, she was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survivors include four children, Wilma Mullins and husband, Donald, Carl Hamilton and wife, Judy, and Chris Hamilton and wife, Cindy all of Lebanon, Virginia, and Randy Hamilton and wife, Veronica of Bud, West Virginia; eleven grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 PM Wednesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Joseph Mullins and Rev. Donald Mullins officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday in Ketron Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Lebanon, Virginia. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to assemble at the mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be Justin Hamilton, Donald Mullins, Jody Mullins, Zack Hamilton, Brad Hamilton, Carl Hamilton, Micky Hamilton, and Derrick Hamilton.
