Dale N. Anderson, 80, of Idaho Falls, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007, at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls, under the care of Hands of Hope Hospices.
He was born Nov. 26, 1926, in Downey, Idaho, the son of Lehi and Larana Kendall Anderson. He moved with his family at an early age from Downey to Moreland where he attended school graduating from Moreland High School in 1945.
After graduation he joined the United States Army during W.W.II. Dale served most of his time in the Army guarding prisoners at the Tauphaus Park Prison Camp. After separating from the Army, Dale worked for many farmers in the area and then went to work for Blair Frye Motors hauling cars from Detroit, Mich., and Oakland, Calif., to Pocatello, Idaho.
It wasn't until he started working for the INL as a bus driver that he met and married Eileen Foley on May 22, 1955, in Woodville, Idaho.
Dale worked as a bus driver until becoming a boiler operator for the INL, which he did until his retirement in 1991.
He was a member of the Idaho Falls Elk Lodge BPOE No. 1087, were he had served as a past Exalted Ruler and Treasurer. He loved spending time camping, fishing, hunting and bowling, but most of all Dale loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Eileen Anderson of Idaho Falls; two sons, Brent (Stacy) Anderson and Larry (Melanie) Anderson all of Idaho Falls; three sisters, Lila (Carl) Adams of Moreland, May (Ron) Adams of Rigby and Joy (Von) Martin of Blackfoot; three brothers, Ray (Julie) Anderson of Blackfoot, Max (Deone) Anderson and Bill (Brenda) Anderson all of Moreland; five grandsons, David, Jeramiha, Nathan, Andy and MIchael; one granddaughter, Teegan; one grandson, Kaleb; and two step-grandchildren, Holly and Keith.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Boyd and Ellis Anderson; four sisters, Ruth (Chauncey) Byington, Verona Anderson, Gwen (Carroll) Ferguson and Leah (Edgar) Waddoups.
