William Swallow was a man of great character. A mentor to my father, he taught him how to fix cars. My father loved him and admired him very much.
I did not know my Great Uncle Bill, but many years after his death I heard many stories about how special he was. Not only from family, but others in the Town of Spencer. One man told me he was the first man in town to have electric lights.
He was the godfather to my sister - Holly Swallow Carmack.
