Donald Ray Fuller of Joy Services Today
Funeral services for Donald Ray Fuller,62, of Joy, were held at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, in the Olin Funeral Home in Joy with the Rev. James Hancock, pastor of the Joy United Methodist Church, officiating and burial was in the Aledo Cemetery.
Mr. Fuller died Sunday morning in the Mercer County Hospital, Aledo, following an extended illness.
He was born Dec. 4, 1907, in Burgess, the son of Edgar and Mable Reeves Fuller and had resided most of his lifetime in the Joy area. He married Daisy Huttenstine on April 27, 1927 and she died in 1952.
Mr. Fuller married Mable Garrett on Dec. 21, 1955, in Chicago.
He was a retired truck driver.
Surviving are the widow; four sons, Laddie of Dixon , Billy of Redwood City, Calif., Virgil of Moline, and Delvin of Green Rock;a daughter Mrs. Stanley Speer of Aledo; two brothers, Wayne of Little Rock, Ark.;and James in Michigan; five sisters, Mrs.Dorothy Hoskin of Washington, Mrs. Stanley Disbrow of Ypsilanti, Mich., Mrs. Norwin Peterson of Calamus, Ia., Mrs. Grace Lovendresky of Honor, Mich., and Mrs. Freda Graham of Herman, Calif.; his mother in Aledo;three step-sons, Wayne Garrett of Rock Island,Keith Garrett of Omaha and Harold Garrett of Davenport; 11 grandchildren and nine step-grandchildren.
Five brothers, four sisters and his father preceded him in death.
