John C. Higgins

John C Higgins 86 charter member of Local 12 National Brotherhood of Operative Potters and president of Trades & Labor Council for many years died Saturday at 6 20 p m at the home of a daughter Mrs Effie Morgan 1841 Harvey Ave following a long illness.
Higgins was born Dec 25 1865 in Rochester Pa and had spent most of his life in East Liverpool. He was a jiggerman at the Homer Laughlin China Co for a number of years. He had worked last for the Ohio Power Co, retiring in 1942.
He served as president of Local 12 for several terms and was a member of the Boyce Methodist Church. His wife Mrs. Minnie DeBee Higgins died in 1941.
He leaves another daughter Mrs.Dorothy Brindley and a son Homer E Higgins both of East Liverpool, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Rites will be held Tuesday at 2 p m in the Boyce Church by the Rev Paul C Bailey the pastor. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call tonight at the Morgan home.
