LEE TOWNSHIP MAN DIES AT HOSPITAL HERE
Edgar Akers, Stricken Wednesday, Dies Last Night.
Edgar Akers, 59 years old, died shortly before 11 o'clock on Thursday night at Sheltering Arms Hospital from uremic poisoning. Funeral services will be held at the Hebbardsville Presbyterian Church Monday morning at 10:30 o'clock, with burial in the cemetery near the church.
Mr. Akers was a Lee Township farmer. On Wednesday he was found unconscious near the Athens Country Club, having been stricken while on a business trip. He was removed to the hospital here and never regained consciousness. A widow and a 14-year-old daughter are left, in addition to a number of brothers and sisters and other relatives, most of whom live in West Virginia in the Keyser district.
Mr. Akers was a carpenter for a number of years and spent part of his life in and about Carbondale. Some years ago he purchased a farm in Lee Township and was widely known in that district.
