Kenneth Merle Babbs, 89, of Urbana passed away at 7:48 a.m., Thursday, March 25, 2017 at Bickford Assisted Living Center. A visitation will be held from 2:00-2:30 p.m., Thursday, April 6th at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana. Graveside services will be held at 2:45 p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery in Urbana, with Pastor Rich Gregory officiating.

Mr. Babbs was born December 22, 1927 in Blue Island, Illinois to parents Orville and Lois (Burton) Babbs. He married Elizabeth Ann Moorehead May 28, 1952. She preceded him in death June 8, 2007.

Survivors include daughter, Becky Weatherford, of Urbana and grandson, Kenneth Weatherford, of Champaign.

His parents and three siblings, Howard, Donald, and Wesley Babbs, preceded him in death.

Kenneth was a veteran of the United States Army and attended Pennsylvania Ave. Baptist for many years. He worked as a telephone lineman for Illinois Bell.
