Edith "Dee Dee" Louise Dale, 81, of Charlottesville, VA, died in a local hospital. She was born in Fort Benning, Ga., the daughter of the late John Walton Lang and Edith Louise Harmon Lang. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, John Walton Lang and Cornelis "Tommy" deWitt Willcox Lang. Dee Dee was bilingual in Spanish and worked as a translator at the CIA. She was one of its first 100 employees. Later, she lived overseas with her family for many years before moving to Charlottesville, VA, where Dee Dee was a volunteer for FOCUS, Women's Resource Center, where she ran women's self help groups for 13 years.

At the time of her death she was survived by two daughters, a step-daughter and her partner; a beloved son-inlaw of Charlottesville; five grandchildren; a sister, three nieces, and 3 nephews.
