Born in Boston on February 9, 1941, daughter of the late Henry A. and Genevieve H. (Talarski) Bajdek, she was raised in Saugus, a graduate of Saugus public schools. Following the completion of secretarial school she went to work at Chelsea Naval Shipyard. Here she met her husband Gene, and they married in her parents home on Febraurary 2, 1963.
For ten years Dolores was employed as an office manager for Ultra Fine Papers in Beverly from which she retired in 2006.
She loved gardening, sewing, her cat Yo-Yo, and spending time with her family and grandchildren which included her summers camping in Maine. She was a longtime communicant of Our Lady of Hope Church.
Dolores was predeceased by a daughter, Kelly McLaughlin of CA. She is survived by three daughters, Victoria Fitzpatrick of Amesbury, Christine Fitzpatrick-Case and her husband Vincent of NM, and Stacie Frost and her husband Keith of Methuen; a son-in-law, Mark McLaughlin of CA; seven grandchildren, Haley and Samantha McLaughlin, Marissa and Gabriel Case, and Kylie, Madison, and Abigail Frost; a brother, Martin H, Bajdek of Boston; two sisters, Kathleen Cozza and her husband Paul of NC, and Margaret Landry and her husband Michael of Saugus; brother-in-law Arthur Cummings, husband of her late sister Bernadette Cummings, and many nephews and nieces.
Her funeral will be held Saturday March 25, 8 am from the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High St., Ipswich followed by the celebration of a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 9 am in Our Lady of Hope Church, Pineswamp Road, Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. Visiting hours are Friday 4 to 7 pm. Interment will be in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery, Ipswich. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name to a charity of your choice.
