Clara Mae Dawes Sanders, age 92, of Zionsville, passed away Wednesday April 5, 2017 in the Meadows Nursing Facility. Born March 26, 1925 in Fillmore, In. She was the daughter of Carl Elliott and Hazel (Hunt) Elliott. She married Claude Dawes and he preceded her. She remarried to Ed Sanders and he preceded her also. Clara graduated from Amo High School in 1943 and worked as a Manager for the Indiana License Branch in Danville. Survivors include a son Carl (Sue) Dawes, Avon; 8 grandchildren; and 1 great-granddaughter. She was preceded by her parents, husbands, daughters Claudia Colyer and Mildred Johnson, brother Raymond Pritchett, and sisters Maxine Cox and Alberta Miller.
