Obituary - Belgrade News, Belgrade, MT Jul 25, 2006

Patricia E. Wyer, 73, died of natural causes Sunday, July 23, 2006 at her home in Belgrade. She was born June 16, 1933 to Phillip and Virginia Pawley in Denver, Colo. She was born and raised on the HooDoo Ranch, which was the largest ranching outfit in the state of Wyoming. She spent most of her childhood on the ranch and had a lot of fond memories of growing up there and her horses that she adored.

She moved to Clinton, Mo., in 1948, where she later married Don Sweigart. They had three children, Phillip, Paul and Mary Catherine. Pat moved to Belgrade in 1969, where she married Robert Wyer. She worked as a secretary for Con Agra for a short time and then she and Bob opened a small-engine shop. They ran their shop, Belgrade Sales and Service, for more than 30 years. She was a very active member in the community and in the lives of her family and friends. Pat loved the outdoors. She loved hunting and snowmobiling and just spending time with nature. She will be greatly missed by all of those whose lives she has touched throughout the years with her love and generosity.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Wyer; and by her children, Phillip Sweigart (and Teresa) of Springfield, Mo., Paul Sweigart (and Brenda) of Potter, Kan., and Mary Catherine Sweigart of Yuma, Ariz. She is also survived by her stepdaughter, Roberta (and Bill) Guffey of Belgrade, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Pat will be cremated and her ashes spread over Carter Mountain outside Cody, Wyo. As she requested there will be no funeral or memorial service, but a celebration of life will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, July 28 at the Belgrade Senior Center, 92 Cameron Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
