Willie Mae Griffin Dean
Willie Mae Dean, age 89, formerly of 113 Tallwood Homes, died Sunday, March 20, 2005 in the Lexington Medical Center, Columbia, S.C.
She was born in Saluda and was a daughter of the late George Calvin and Martha Isabelle McIntyre Griffin.
Mrs. Dean was a retired employee of Clinton Mills,
Lydia Plant and was a member of the New Beginnings Church of God of Prophecy.
Surviving is her daughter, Melda Scott of Lexington; twelve grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren and fourteen great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Clifton Dean, three sons; Marvin Eugene Tumlin, Ralph Heyward Tumlin and James Larry Dean.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 23rd at 11 a.m. in the Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Laurens with burial at Pinelawn Memory Garden.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Gray Funeral Home in Clinton.
The family will be at the home of Edna Barker, 54 Forest Road, Clinton.

Mother to three sons: Marvin Eugene Tumlin, Jr.(1933-1983), Ralph Heyward Tumlin (1941-2001) and James Larry Dean (1947-1978). One daughter, Mrs. Richard A. (Melda Carol) Scott.
Sister to Lula Viola, Eunice Vernon, Thomas Calvin, Ethel Luvina, Pearl Estelle, Lillian Fannie, Arthur Colan, Martha Eline, and Herman Lee.
