Delno Sumpter, 78, of Nancy died Friday, March 9, at Mercy Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, following a short illness. He had been living with his niece, Pauline Wilson, for the last six months.
Born July 5, 1911, in Pulaski County, he was the son of the late Arche Marion and Nancy Senith Burton Sumpter. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Burnetta Baptist Church.
He is survived by a brother, Dewey Sumpter of Nancy.
Three brothers, Leon, Joe, and Arvil Sumpter; and three sisters, Nellie Fulcher, Rosie Pittman, and Hattie Sumpter, preceded him in death.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Burnetta Baptist Church with the Rev. C.E. Hansford officiating.
Burial will be in the Lee Cemetery.
