George Ivan Light, son of Mr. and Mrs. B. L. Light of Munden, Kansas was born October 28, 1914 near Narka, Kansas. He lived in this vicinity until the age of four years, when he moved with his parents to Rogers, Arkansas.
In 1930 the family moved back to Kansas, making their home at Munden. Here he continued his education, having finished his junior year. He was always interested in school activities and this year received his basketball trophy. In school he had many friends whose friendship he valued very highly, for Ivan appreciated his friends more than the average.
In early childhood he was converted and united with the Methodist church at Rogers, later transferring his membership to Munden. He was a regular attendant, faithful in Sunday school and church activities, being secretary-treasurer of the Epworth League at the time of his death.
For a number of years he had been in very poor health, although this was unknown to many for to the end, he carried this burden with a smile.
On May 23 at the age of 20 years, 6 months and 25 days, he passed to his reward where suffering is unknown.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. L. Light, of Munden; a brother, John W., two sisters, Vera Light and Mrs. Velda Heiner, all of Oklahoma City, Okla., two brothers, Don E. and J. Kenneth and one sister, Mary, at home, a number of other relatives and a great number of friends. He will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m., at the M. E. Church at Munden, conducted by the Rev. F. L Courter and burial at Ida cemetery.
