Roma Eleanor Raper
The graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Eugene for Roma Eleanor Raper of Wilsonville, formerly of Lane County, who died Dec. 8 of heart-related causes at age 85.
She was born Jan. 6, 1921, in Adair, Iowa, to Charles and Emma Aupperle Swinehart. She married Harry Raper on Aug. 16, 1942, in Long Beach, Calif. He died April 22, 1983.
She worked as a medical aide in Pomona, Calif. She was a certified nursing assistant in Eugene at nursing homes and in home health care.
Survivors include three daughters, Sue Barnett of Barlow, Rita Dennis of Van Nuys, Calif., and Jo Ann Caro of Burbank, Calif.; a son, Le Roy of Canby; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A daughter, Patti Leone, died in 2005.
