Born in Oakland, Nebraska on March 19, 1899, he spent his early years there, attending school in Oakland and Lyons. He graduated from the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois and has been a minister up till this time.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtle; two daughters, Mrs. Jim Wakeman and Mrs. Dale Rose; and three grandchildren all of LaPorte, Indiana; four sisters, Mrs. Emily Blevins and Miss Ruth Beck of Oakland, Nebraska; Mrs. Arthur Peterson of Caracas, Venezuela and Mrs. Hilma Turnquist of Rockford, Illinois.
Attending the funeral from the area were Miss Ruth Blevins of Omaha, Clinton Blevins of Decatur, Nebraska and Miss Ruth Beck, of Oakland, Nebraska.

Rev. Fred Beck, 62, of LaPorte, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on Monday evening, September 25, after a prolonged illness.
Beck served in the churches in Joliet, Illinois, McKeesport, Pennsylvania, Dover, New Jersey, and Elim and Chicago in Illinois, in his active days as a minister of the gospel. He also was the author of Arrow Heads, a book of pointed and useful comments which proved of extended blessing to many readers outside of the Free Church as well as within its circles.
Memorial services were scheduled for Thursday, September 28, at 2 P.M. at the Haverstock Funeral Home in LaPorte. Rev. Wallace Johnson of the Elim Church, Oak Lawn, Illinois, of which congregation he was a member, was in charge of the service. Beck is survived by his wife and two children, other relatives, as well as a host of friends in all parts of North America.
